Weekly Classes

All of our weekly classes currently meet on Mondays.

About Continuing Karate Training

Requirements for this class are to either have taken one of our 8 week introductory courses (which fulfills half the requirements to test for yellow belt), or to already have a belt in a directly related** style to Shudokan Karate-Do.  (Shudokan Karate-Do originated with the idea that you must use only your limbs to deliver a single blow powerful enough to knock out an assailant.  To do so, it generates power from hip movements to deliver these blows with the hands and elbows, utilizing kicks and knees as backup weapons.)

**Directly Related Styles: Shurin-Ryu, Goju-Ryu, Shuto-Ryu, Shotokan, Wado Ryu
Related (But Not Transferable Styles): Jiu-Jitsu***, White Crane Kungfu, Aikido, Judo, Budo, Boxing, Traditional Tae Kwan Do
Unrelated Styles: Ninjitsu, Taijitsu, American Tae Kwan Do, Shaolin Kungfu, Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Capoera

***We do incorporate Jiu-Jitsu techniques in our later training, but our basics are very different, which is why practitioners of Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Aikido would need to start at White Belt.  However, such users will find that their past experience is extremely useful in our style and will accelerate their training in later belts.
